Knitting for Beginners
January class is filled.
KNITTING is like yoga for the mind. Join us at Laughing Sun Brewery from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 15, for an intro to knitting class. Cost is $30 and limited to 8 students.
This is the first step to begin a lifetime skill that will net you the benefit of mittens, hats, scarves, sweaters, pillows, you name it. And, there's a free craft beverage of your choice included.
Learn how to read a pattern (supplied), cast on and the knit stitch, or refresh your skills - all questions answered.
SUPPLIES: Please bring a pair of size 6 or 7 knitting needles and a worsted weight wool/wool blend yarn for a pair of fingerless gloves or a sturdy cotton yarn for a face cloth. You will need a darning needle and stitch markers (safety pins work) if you wish to work towards fingerless wristlets.
Weaving as an Art Form

EARLY weavers used found materials to create the first webs. In this session, learn tapestry techniques in miniature. Create a bracelet, mini wall hanging, necklace or pouch.
Materials will be supplied, all you need to bring is
A pair of snippers
Large eyed needles and/or darning needles (good to have one or two of different sizes)
A special token like a button or bead or several to incorporate into your design.
Pencil and paper.
A thirst - cause this class includes a free beverage of your choice from Laughing Sun Brewery - which is where we will be meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1.

Planting a tomato
It's a world of food and fiber along the beautiful Missouri River in North Dakota. What I do and how I learned how to do the things I do was easy - I grew up in a local foods system in an agrarian family that at one time filled an entire county.
My story spans many years and you can learn more about my daily farm life below.
